The Skoda Fabia Key Features
In our test the 1.2 TSI proved flexible and surprisingly fun when it was thrown its way around on twisty roads. It's also very affordable.
Skoda's range is now dominated by SUVs, which means you'd think there's no place for the lighter hatchback - but the Fabia still has plenty to offer.
Keyless entry and start
Keyless entry and start are two features that makes it much easier to enter your car. A sensor inside the key fob transmits an alert to the vehicle's antenna when you are within 1.5 meters. The signal signifies the presence of the key and If everything is fine the car will begin or unlock the door.
The Fabia was the first This system is available on a variety of Koda models. It can be activated by pressing the button on the keyfob, or by placing your hands on the handle. The door will then open, and the car's lights are turned on if they were previously activated. You can also activate the puddle light in your car.
This is a very useful feature, particularly when you are parking in the dark. However, there are some things to keep in mind when using this feature. If you don't wear gloves, you cannot unlock the car by using the handle. Additionally, the doors of the Koda Fabia do not have any dimples to serve this purpose.
The Keylab locking is a different feature. This is a safety feature that will prevent your car from being taken away or vandalized It detects when the key is in ignition and is close to the engine. If this is the situation the key will send a signal the car's locks, and the door handles will be able to lock.
In addition to the basic 1.4 TSI petrol engines, which are the basis of most models however, the Fabia can also be bought with a more powerful 1.0 TSI engine. This version of Fabia is available with front-wheel drive and four-wheel-drive, and in various trim levels. It is available in hatchback and estate versions, and comes equipped with either manual or automatic transmissions.
In the UK, Fabia is offered with a diesel option. This is a 1.9 litre turbocharged direct-injection diesel engine that produces up to 130 PS (96 kW). The Fabia RS, also known as the vRS in the UK, was the first hot hatchback exclusively powered by diesel. It was named the Scottish Car of the year in 2003. It also benefits from a lower vehicle tax band which makes it a lot more affordable to run.
Two USB ports
Skoda has two USB ports at the rear of the front seats. This is a big plus for families who have to charge multiple devices while traveling. It's ideal for those who have to charge their phones and tablets before stepping into the vehicle.
The Fabia's roomy interior is surprising, considering its tiny dimensions on the outside. It's also stylishly designed and has lots of colour and a huge infotainment system. In terms of comfort the front seats are a perfect fit and come with plenty of adjustments. The rear space is a bit less spacious, but it's enough for three adults. The rear also includes an ISOFIX point to attach baby seats.
All models of the Fabia include a wide range of safety equipment, including automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping aid, traffic sign recognition and driver drowsiness detection. Euro NCAP also awarded it five stars for its crash tests. This is an excellent result, especially considering the price. The Fabia is among the most secure cars in its class.
It's a great option when you're looking for a vehicle that is easy to drive in the town or city. Its smaller footprint makes it easier to maneuver into tight parking spaces and can be tucked away in narrow streets. With its wide doors, short overhang, and large openings it's easy to park in large cities.
Skoda has incorporated many of its "Simply Clever" features in the cabin. These tiny features might not be revolutionary however they can make driving a car more enjoyable. There's an umbrella that fits in the driver's side door and an ice scraper in the fuel flap and an auto boot cover that can be opened up to shield your paintwork. The front seats are also equipped with pockets for maps and a pen loop. There's dual-zone climate controls, cruise control and DAB radio, which is standard across the range.
Control of the cruise with adaptive features
Cruise control has been a trusted companion for drivers, making long journeys and commutes more enjoyable and less stressful. While traditional cruise controls only keep an arbitrary speed but adaptive cruise controls go one step further and regulate the acceleration and braking. This makes it safer driving even in the most chaotic traffic conditions.
A standard feature on all new Skodas adaptive cruise control also has many useful additional features that make your journey more pleasant. The system makes use of sensors to monitor the vehicles that are in front of you. It will automatically slow down and stop if needed, and adjust to changing speeds based on traffic and road conditions. The car also keeps your speed and can adjust to changing lanes if the sensor's readings are prompted.

If the feature is enabled when the feature is activated, a white Adaptive Cruise Control icon displays on your cluster display or Head-Up Display (if equipped) to inform you that the feature is on and is in operation. By pressing the cruise mode button on your steering, you can switch between various Adaptive Cruise Control settings. You can also select your preferred gap setting by selecting Far Medium, Near, and Far. This allows the vehicle to adjust its speed according to the speed of the vehicle in the front of it. It will display the current gap setting in your head-up Display (if equipped).
Some systems can also use GPS mapping to anticipate curves and slow down the vehicle to ensure that you don't exceed the speed limit. They will then adjust the system after you've gotten around the bend. Other systems that make use of traffic-sign recognition are able to adjust your Adaptive cruise control speed to be in line with the displayed limit.
To maximize the benefits of your cruise control, you need to remain active as an operator. To turn off the cruise control, you will be required to press the brake or a different key. Your car will not be able to change lanes on its own and you'll need to stay alert and watch out for other drivers.
Headlights that are adaptive
Adaptive headlights alter the lighting modes to the driving conditions using the most recent LED matrix technologies. This ensures you are able to see clearly of the road at all times. The system automatically shifts between country, city and motorway settings based on the GPS data from your navigation system. This allows you to drive in areas you aren't familiar with especially at night much easier. The system is also able to recognize clouds or rainy weather, and activates the rain sensor to control the speed of your windshield wipers, and also the active cornering light to provide better visibility on roads with curves.
If your vehicle has adaptive headlights installed, the control panel mounted on the steering wheel will display a message that instructs you to switch your high beams to low beam to avoid blinding traffic coming from behind. The system will notify you if pedestrians are coming towards. This feature reduces driver fatigue and increases safety on busy roads, which are crowded.
Another benefit of adaptive headlights is the ability to direct the headlights towards the direction in which the vehicle is going. This feature, also referred to as curve-adaptive lights, makes driving on roads that curve by illuminating objects that would be otherwise hidden from drivers. This can help to reduce claims for property damage liability by up to 5.8 percent, according to Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI).
One of the best features of adaptive headlights is that they can also be used to illuminate the area around the vehicle when it is stationed. This feature is especially useful in parking lots that are crowded, as it allows for easier maneuvering and reverse the car. It also assists in reducing accidents caused by vehicles leaving or entering the vehicle.
The fabia is equipped with a wide assortment of safety features that come as standard that include six airbags for the driver as well as six Isofix anchors for child seats. It also comes with a wide range of driver assistance systems, such as Front Assist, which is designed to notify you or even stop the car in the event of an imminent collision. The fabia comes with a variety of smart technologies, including Rear Traffic Alert as well as Auto Light Assist, and more.
